swiched fused isolator

just doing a re wire and repositioning CU, a friend of mine told me that i would have to fit a fused isolator to the tails, is this correct

depends on the length of the tails from the meter to the cu. If they are more than 3 meters then yes you will

Check with your DNO they set the maximum tail length and some of them insist on a 2 metre maximum.
