Afternoon guys
Got a job my builder wants me to do in nice block of flats up town
solid concrete ceilings/walls/floors unfortunately!
lighting is just staying as is- but them want extra sockets added and a new 5amp socket circuit for lights

the existing sockets are wired in single in tube in the wall but no singles cpc
-pending the tubes are sound and zs readings are good
-how would you go about adding in sockets
easy enough to add 1x spur in places- but what about if I need 2 or 3 in one place?
whats good way re 'extending' the earth in the ring...
at the mo its just a fly lead from back box into earth terms of sockets
cheers guys

5amp socket circuit for the lights? are you intending to run a dedicated circuit for 5Amp sockets for standard lamps etc?
Why do you want to extend the cpc on the RFC?

You either use steel conduit for the cpc as like the existing or fit a suitably sized cpc from an existing back box, I would not bother making the cpc into a ring just fit a single suitably sized cpc.

no sorry- they want the 5amp circuit- ideally becuase they want the control ie from a light switch etc. and a new circuit would be less hassle then tapping into the exisiting ceiling lights etc

although I have since has a idea of poss using the lightwave rf sockets and control could be from a wall mounted wireless remote switch/mood controller

thought would be the case- but was not sure about the 'maths' of trying to continue the cpc ring continuity

so you would go for- extend the ring of the L+N- then use use 4mm single as cpc
