Can someone tell me what I have to do to be able to sign of periodic tests, who is the best body to go with and how much will it cost me.

To do periodic inspection and testing you do not have to go with any of the schemes you need to be competent to do the work.

If you search the testing forum there are plenty of post re this issue.

it's only if the client stipulates niceic etc., you have to join a scam.

yep....these part p schemes will try to get you to join one of their "bolt on" schemes ...a PIR scheme.....total rubbish and a waste of your hard earned n all......they should be stopped from offering these "products"........
