Discuss Thin-film panels, anyone using them? in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Before crystalline panels had started dropping in price there used to be a lot of interest in thin-film...
Usually lower efficiency (which doesn't actually matter if you have space) but also lower price than crystalline...
Just curious whether any of you use thin-film panels and whether you could recommend a supplier?

Main question is whether the current price difference between crystalline and thin-film makes it worth using thin film panels. Lower efficiency means slightly more BoS cost, but if panels are much cheaper this can still be justified...

I can find Heliosphera, Inventux, Pramac, Astronergy, Avancis, GE, CSG PV Tech on the MCS database, but have not managed to get hold of any price nor availability info yet from UK distributors

Fitted a few now...bit of a ball ache getting the right fittings and the sparky needs to know his onions. Look amazing though...check out Q Smart modules from Q cells.
