This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?

Dear sir or madam

I would like to offer my services on weekends on a voluntary basis to help with the wiring and installation of electrical equipment. I am currently working as a security engineer for an accredited company installing cctv, access control and fire alarms. The purpose of my offer is to be able to work towards my NVQ3 and electrical installer jib card. I do have some cross over skills and qualifications relevant to the role and I am eager to learn from a more experienced tutor

Perhaps briefly mention:

1. What you think your cross over skills and qualifications are (or include in a one page resume).
2. You will arrange your own personal and third party liability cover.
3. What Health and Safety qualifications you have.
4. Will you supply your own tools?
5. Can you drive?
6. The offer for the company to contact some referees whom you provide particulars on.
7. Confirm you are not colour-blind in any way.

Good luck.

I have updated my covering letter to the one below, that but will change the “sir/madam” to the owner of the company. hopefully I will get some bites fingers crossed.

I am currently working as a security engineer for an accredited company installing cctv, access control and fire alarms. I have city and guilds 2330 level 2&3, 17th edition wiring regulations, ECS site card, my own hand and power tools and driving license with a van so I would be able to meet on the job. I know Murdoch on the sites we work with them they are packing up by 2 o’clock . I don’t really want to give them up either, I normally do my side intruder alarm and cctv jobs but hopefully it’s a sacrifice for a better future
