To crimp or not to crimp......

I'm going to be wiring up a smart home panel in a couple of weeks using mainly 0.5mm tri-rated cable and wondered what the view is on using crimped ferrules on the ends of the cables to fit into the screw terminals of the various components.
Seems like a good way to avoid poor connections with stranded cable and the neatness appeals to my OCD side!

I see nothing wrong in them.

It's against the regulations not to ferrule or suitably treat the ends of fine stranded conductors.

The only caveat to this is when manufacturers state otherwise, for instance with the use of constant pressure spring terminals

Not 100% sure on the wording of the regulation but tinning (soldering) is not recommended in connections that are prone to vibration.

o.5mm? What voltage? Can't see any problems soldering with elv.

I think ‘don’t quote me’ BS EN 60204 prohibits solder.

Or that could be just soldered joints.....hmmmm

Soldering is recommend in cars and they vibrate a hell of a lot more than a building.....
