I'm going to be wiring up a smart home panel in a couple of weeks using mainly 0.5mm tri-rated cable and wondered what the view is on using crimped ferrules on the ends of the cables to fit into the screw terminals of the various components.
Seems like a good way to avoid poor connections with stranded cable and the neatness appeals to my OCD side!
Cheers
Rob

Yeah your wife told me that delivery is once every six weeks.........

We have two kids... We don't do that sort of thing anymore.....

It's been ages since I've heard that song..

It's against the regulations not to ferrule or suitably treat the ends of fine stranded conductors.

The only caveat to this is when manufacturers state otherwise, for instance with the use of constant pressure spring terminals

Are you allowed to solder the ends?
