Track lighting for a kitchen

I'm looking to stick some track lighting in my kitchen, downlights would be ideal but pretty much mean ripping the ceiling down and starting again so looking into surface options.
Does anyone know of any domestic solutions? I've fitted multi-channel systems before but they were all quite bulky and commercial looking.

i was worried that might be the case. anything then that could make me feel like im a proper chefs kitchen or cooking for a tv show? i presume a massive spot pointed at the microwave will be required for the latter!

I agree with @Leesparkykent that any track lighting system will look too commercial for a domestic kitchen, only exeption possibly with very high slopping ceilings. But if you feel compelled to put a track system i would check out the jcc range. Why do you feel you'd need to rip the celing down to do anything else, maybe a pic of the celing/kitchen in question and forum members could post suggestions up and maybe youll see one that ticks all boxes

i really like track lights, easy to install, easy to add more lights, point the light into needed direction. load them up with LED gu10 of your choice. Theres plenty of selection for track fittings to choose from. I often use knightsbridge fittings, value for money and do not look bulky at all. rather modern and smart.

forgive the terminology here but il try my best, 1/3rd way into my kitchen there is a steel beam that runs full height of ceiling void, plasterboard right up to it. the rest the timber that holds up the ceiling goes from plasterboard to floor above so i'd need to make plenty holes to drill through the joists to get cables through. i moved my light switch in the kitchen a few months ago and found how much of a pain it is up there, getting in from above is as much of a pig, means taking down a king size bed and lifting the carpets & boards.

amlu- thanks, il take a look at knghtsbridge aswell. i like the idea that i could easily add more lights after if i needed to.

The knightsbridge black stuff seems like it might be just the job, not too badly priced, T's and bend connectors don't cost the earth, it looks quite slimline, might see if anywhere nearby has a showroom and take the Mrs to see it, think we're onto a winner though. il throw in some led daylight GU10's from led hut and i think il be all sorted.
