Plan is to illuminate a bunch of impressive trees (including a few Californian Redwoods!) in a garden. Client wants to be able to change the colour of the lights easily and (here's the catch) independently from each other.

I've found lights that look suitable in several places but they're all controlled by remote, which I'm betting will just control all the lights at once (so press a button and they'll all turn red, or all green, etc, when they want to change each light without affecting the other lights).

Anyone know where to get such lights that can change colour without remote control? Thinking I need 30W LEDs or thereabouts, 10W isn't going to cut it for the monsters they're going to be lighting up.

DMX 512 Is the answer, you can control them independantly or group them together using master / slave configuration, independant control needs a controler, but they are are cheap and readily available, If you want to see whats available, and there's lot's, then check out ALI EXPRESS, Better quality would be available in Europe if you want it !
