Anybody heard of these people? I've received emails offering exclusive contract works in my area on a contract they claim to have? Looks and smells like a scam to me but wanted to know if anyone else has heard about this?

scam. like emergency response. they give you jobs where they charge their clients an exhorbitant fee ( say £125 + VAT for a call-out ) then you invoice them for £45, you then have to get debt collectors after them to get paid. avoid.

Update: decided to speak with said company to see what was going on............after a few pleasantries it basically came down to them charging £2k+ upfront for the contract, rather than taking commission from each job they claim you will be guaranteed! Scam for sure

Yes, straight up scam. Been doing the rounds for a while now.

They use the same figures of available jobs for every area of the UK. Total BS.

I would like to say no but the fact they keep going must mean someone is stupid enough to fall for it.
Probably a similar thread on the Plumbers forum saying how good an idea it is

If anything is being reported it will more than likely be via Action Fraud (more appropriately InAction Fraud) which then takes about six months before being allocated to a police force to investigate by which time all the baddies have spent or hidden their ill gotten gains!

YES ITS A SCAM
I signed up, (red faced to admit it but lets shut this ------- down)
All sounds very plausible, but nothing comes of it, continues to operate and you can ring them now on 01413286137, registered address looks false
I've started a facebook page in their name, if anyones been done by them please join & share & hopefully we can get some details on the owner a William Hay & put this out of business, maybe I could find the address he operates from and pay him a visit.

So as best as I can tell, the director is Mathew Hay and he is director of two companies.

UK TMA Ltd - Registered in Scotland (SC516751)
UK TOTAL MAINTENANCE ENG Ltd - Registered in England and Wales (10671916)

I cannot say with 100% certainty that the Mathew Hay of these two companies is the same person as there is no link between the two company registers.

If there is a contract between you and this company, I'd be reading it very closely to see if there is a breach clause that may allow you to recover your money. Particularly if they have not delivered the work.

Whilst directors residential addresses aren't displayed to the public... I can tell you when I formed my company, I had to supply more information than you see when you look at me on the Companies House website. I believe if you write to companies house, you can request the other information.

If anyone had been scammed can I suggest reporting online to ‘Action(less)’ Fraud and also letting Trading Standards in Glasgow know.

We have been caught with the same scam! Contact me, I am more than prepared to share notes. I have addresses and alot more names and connections than you seem to have found so far. I would enjoy the oppurtunity to shut the f*****’s down. I am in contact with another 5 companys in the same position as ourselves, even another contractor in the NR area.
