Just trying to find out if anyone has fitted electric underfloor heating under laminate flooring. If you have or know about it can you telll me if a tiny piece of the wire is not under the floor does it matter ?

the product in question is Warmup - underlaminate foil heater 200w/m

Are you talking about the hot (heating) part of the wiring? If it is, then best not to have it exposed as the floor is suposed to act as a heat sink. Having heated element uncovered is more likely going to shorten the working life of the mat.

Indeed, it will cause problems, normally with the part left exposed.

There are products available now, that do not suffer this problem.

Warmup could be one of them, but not sure.

Have a Google. :)

Do you mean the sensor?

If so then this is for wooden floors to stop the floor getting too hot,
It can still work without it but it should be in place.
