Hello everyone

I'm currently at Grimsby uni doing level 2 electrical installations. I'm looking for some on the job experience in the trade and I can 1 maybe 2 days a week. I would work unpaid I'm looking for my area Grimsby .

Regards

Charles .

i would not expect anyone to work for free if they were coming to me for experience. you should at least get min. wage if you are assisting as well as gaining experience.

I have a ecs card and gained nvq in Pat testing and my own comprehensive tool set. I'm just looking to have at least one day a week with an electrician to gain experience on the job
What sort of experience as an Electrician are you looking for experience in Domestic (rewires, new builds) Commercial, or industrial, as it will be a factor in your choices.
If I was still working you would have been welcome but no for free, that I feel would be unethical, but that is now out of the question, but good luck, I'm sure someone will be able to spare you a few days.

Try:

Harry Carr Electrical Ltd
F Rogers Engineering Services
Roger Hall Electrical Ltd

Be bold. Make an appointment to visit. Wear your smart work clothes, get a hair cut, polish your boots and carry your PPE and driving licence. Bring along a tool box with your tools. Ask boldly when you could start pay-free for a try out week with a review at the end of it for further work with them. Inform your course tutor what you intend and seek his agreement to be a a referee for you. Handover to these firms his full name, phone number and email address.
