Discuss Use blue cable for live wire in radial circuit? in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi All

I am not interested in carrying out any electrical work myself but have had some experience on a basic level and have discovered something that raised my eyebrows recently.

I recently had somebody come and install lighting and power sockets in my garage, all cables are run through PVC conduit. I noticed recently that the 13A socket radial circuit has been wired using blue cable both for the neutral circuit and the live circuit, with brown tape used to identify the live cables (taped at all termination points).

I am not overly concerned by this but was curious so feel the need to ask the question.... Is this allowed within wiring regs?

TIA
Koth

guy's obviously had a roll of blue to shift and no brown. not good practice but allowable.

I use all the wrong colours on my installations, and sleeve them correctly just to be perverse and puzzle future electrician. :D

On a serious note, does the sleeving get-out allow us to use up reels of 'old colours' red and black twin and earth?

More profitable to sell it on E-bay ;)
