Discuss Use of cpc as a live conductor - EICR Coding in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I'm just writing up an EICR from last month, one of the findings was a lighting circuit on the non RCD side of the board where the cpc was used as a strapper in 2 way light switching, Ive marked it as C2 for two reasons, one being that there is no longer a cpc in the cable and also that the no live conductor has no proper insulation, however I couldnt find where on the EICR inspection schedule that it would go?

closest i could find on NAPIT EICR was condition of live parts?

Any help would be appriciated

cheers

Go on then Biff....hit me

i'll just get my trusty knuckleduster.

however , surprisingly , there is absolutely no requirement for a cable to contain a cpc just for the sake of protecting it , which is never guarrented anyway with t&e as you can nail through the live and not touch N or E.
but your on the right track with insulation - and lack of phase identification during the full run.

irrespective of what regs. it's breaking, it's a potential danger anyway , so a C2 is correct.
