bagless henry bought for £2, 10 years ago. used with chaser and all other tough jobs. easy empty, just tip it out. all other vacs. suck (NOT).

At home, I bought a secondhand/reconditioned Dyson...Its heavy buyt does ok for what I would term a sensible price.

OH then wanted a lightweight cordless, so we went with the VAX version...its ok but not brilliant although does have a decent run time unlike some.

In the garage I have a metal dustpan and a wooden hand brush...It works far better than any of the small cordless vacs I've seen...If I were back on the tools again, that's what I would use, along with a corded Henry for bigger cleaning jobs..

henry or whichever other hoover in the range of hoovers with faces is for industrial use, henry will see you out of every situation though!

we had a henry at college and he took some abuse lol, whole notebooks of paper, pens, rubbers, bits of cable

Henry still going strong for the last 10 plus years and never had a bag in it! It's had some serious abuse with plaster, bits of cable etc. I've tried the customer's Dyson's on occasions but find them cumbersome and overrated. It would be nice though to find something a bit smaller though that is man enough for the job.

After reading a post about what people thought about Mr Dysons vacuum cleaners, I need to ask what other people use.
We have used a Dyson in the house, and a bagless Vax. We used to have a Henry but that got relegated to the garage for cleaning the cars etc, but it succumbed to a smoking related illness.
I'd like to keep one in the van for those little domestic jobs, rather than using the customers. Any ideas?
We have a B&D Dustbuster but that cant pick up a grain of salt.
Something rechargeable would be handy. Cordless Dyson? or GTech?

I tend to use the wife

along with the kirby. g tech for home use . nice and light for 'er indoors to carry, and, as a gesture of goodwill gtech sent us a new battery pack FOC when vac was 12 months past warranty. no use for anything heavy though.

I've not seen or used any of the high end battery domestic vacuums, but I can't help thinking the more run of the mill version are not much of a step up from the old push "sweepers" our parents had as kids...

I think I’ll get another Henry for the garage and throw the bag away. It seems to be getting good feedback. As I said in original post, our old one went up in a cloud of smoke. I borrowed F.I.L’s to finish the job, and his is a bag less Henry he keeps in the shed for cleaning up after woodturning.

I've got the cheeeeeeeeeap titan screwfix one, as somebody else said they are flimsy, but £30 for the little one, and it genuinely is very powerful, its downfall are the poor quality bags.

one plus is it also has blow function if your connecting to a chasing tool and are in a wind the labourer up mood

If you don't use a back then the cloth filter or whatever it is gets clogged up with dust.

Anybody ever come across one of these?

It looks like it would store very neatly on a van ect...
