Veritas 8 compact lack of fuses?

Just a quick question regarding a Veritas 8 Compact alarm panel I fitted.Where is the fuse protection for the bell,key pad etc? I noticed that there aren't any fuses any more.

What happens when there is a short in one of the cables?
In the past you would replace the fuse and it would work again.

I had a short in the bell circuit and the 12 volt supply ceased to work even after the fault had been cleared.

Does the panel become damaged to the point of having to replace the whole thing due to a fault that a fuse would have protected it?

If there is some electronic protection then please let me know how to restore the power after shorts.

If there are no fuses and no electronic protection then this is a step backwards and needs addressing.

What are they and do they reset?

Seems they can stay in the current limiting state for some time.

I know the premier elites have PPTC fuses and would of thought all of their ranges do. Having a look at the 8C layout there appears to be fuses.

They probably use fusable resisitors.
Looks like a standard resistor but if overloaded simply goes open circuit.

pull the fuse out and check it .. spare fuses in packet taped in panal .or indout ring a alarm engneer.

As stated in my original post this panel has NO fuses to protect the bell,keypad etc.Previous versions of this panel did have fuses but this must be a new model.The only fuse in the whole panel is the main one for the transformer.
If they are fuseable resistors then how do you get it working again?
This seems like a very bad design to me.

Read the article I posted from Wikipedia. If they are kept powered, they may not reset. Can take a while, so may be necessary to completely remove power from the panel for a few minutes.

the fuses are next to the heat sink .has this is public forum I would send it to you .on the panel diagram it will show you .

Thank you SparkyChick for the information.If what you says is true then why isn't this vital information in the instruction booklet?

I can't comment, I only went digging for info off the back of @Leesparkykent 's comment about them being PTCC fuses (I wanted to know what the acronym meant).

The only Texecom gear I've ever encountered is a spare sounder I have in stock. Never fitted them, never maintained them.

has I'm a Texecom installer ,their is no changes to the veritas compact on Texecom installers page ,for down loading their products , have saying that will ring them Monday to ask .
