Hi guys I wonder if someone can give me a bit of their advice.
I have a customer who owns a medium size factory, he wants me to install a two sounders 230volt in an area so it warns people that there is a heavy vehicle coming, operated by a switch in the same area, by personel who are given prior warning.
The only problem is there is no power in this area, and the nearest supply is 45 meters away.
The sounders which are of medium quality/price will only require 1.5mm cable, but doing all the calculations with reference to installation method in which it would be B, the voltage exceeds the allowed 5% rule , unless it reaches 6mm, 4mm just fails, it seems a shame that the sounders will only be on for a minute or so when they turn on, several times a day.
I have to put a quote together for a job which is straight forward, only problem is customer doesn't want to have another board small or large, or in my thinking I expect he will not want a big cable supplying these sounders, as the price will be hiked up for obvious reasons.
Has anyone come across voltage drop problems like this that I may be able to use.

why dont you test the calcs in practice ie piece 2.5 tw&e 45mtr long then put your meter on the end and check the actual volt drop

yours benji
