Admins - you know what to do if this post is unsuitable - blame the plumbers ;) There is a point to my factious thread.

Last few weeks of my level three. Mature students in class, all self funded. Folk are wondering in late, whinging, delivering assignments at the last minute et-cetra. The youngsters next classroom along are getting my education for free (Ggrrhhh) and nearly rioting judging by the noise.

How the %$&* do mere mortals develop the patience to teach? Judging a tutor by exam' passes seems unfair in the face of such apathy. I'd love to teach as well as working on the tools but it looks like a no-win & ripe for blame environment in the wrong institute.

Anyone want my soapbox? One careful owner....

I did three years at college as a mature (ish) student in my early thirties, and I gotta say the more mature guys were a lot better behaved than the kids. Except for that one big brawl during a practical electronics exam haha.

Never used a taser. Telescopic friction lock asp’s are more effective. Remember in the met when they changed from nylon battons, which colleagues said weren’t very effective, to asp’s. After a pub fight, the effectiveness of the asp was described as like felling trees with one swipe.
