I am at COLLEGE by the way, if your about to say join another trade or something lol. Also does RCD only operate if there is a earth leakage?
 
That would be an overload protective device, such as a fuse or MCB.
Yes RCDs only operate on earth leakage/earth fault.
A device that provides both overload and earth fault protection is known as an overcurrent device.
Such would be a fuse, MCB or RCBO.

As above but

an RCD will operate on any difference between Live & Neutral currents through it.

The difference can be when current from live conductors is passing to earth,
or from one RCD live bus-bar to another RCD Live bus-bar,
