I was fault finding a streetlighting column today and found this. That'll be why the light doesn't work then. Wouldn't it have been better to drop a new length of cable in instead of using chokky blocks? They have their place sure, just not inside the very top of an exposed lighting column.IMG_0173.jpgIMG_0174.jpg
 
yes, i dropped the head off, bolts seized so drilled and tapped new fixing points and dropped a whole new length of 1.5mm HR flex. Didn't take long even on my own with a heavy lantern on top of steps in the wind and rain. No excuse for lazy working. I'm going to a lot of faults that could have been avoided if people just gave a damn when they were there.
