Hi guys,
Have been doing some work on a hotel refurb and they have asked me to look at installing some wifi repeaters to cover one floor of the bedrooms, any recommendations on products and what I'll have to do ie power requirements and cat 5 links etc ?

For the simple solution I would recomment Devolo powerline products and wifi repeaters... Not cheap but quick and easy to set up

for cheaper solution use any router supported by dd wrt
www.dd-wrt.com | Unleash Your Router
flash the firmware,
link it up to the main router with cat5, plug the power on and it should work.

I used these Devolo products to cure poor wifi in a large house.

dLAN® 500 AV Wireless+ Powerline adapter - devolo AG

But this could be costly if you have to install lots of them. Maybe look at power over ethernet (POE) wireless extender/access point then the unit is powered from the ethernet cable and you don't need a separate power supply. You will however need a POE switch to plug all the devices into.

The equipment you pick will depend on what speed and bandwidth the hotel requires at each access point and what speed the switch can handle and the speed of the incoming internet connection.

This could be used with the below.

You will need to configure the access points so will need a pc connected to the network.
