Discuss wind farms? in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi mate, not personally done any but have worked with some blokes who have, they worked for SSE Glasgow I think (On a temporary Basis). Most of the big Jobs will be blue book I would think, most of the work involved was just racking, traywork, glanding and terminating armoured.

Well just your basic quals mate, safety passport ( 2 day moron course), money would be blue book rates, sparks would be grade 4 so 13.68/hr ish once you get 2 years experience you get grade 5 which is 14.28 I think. Obviously thats basic money, digs paid at £29 a night, 7 nights a week if you work 5 days or 4 nights. Most jobs have loads of o/T. Don't no of any windfarms at the mo though. You can easily pull in decent money on blue book jobs but you could get laid off at a moments notice!
Doesn't really matter what company you 'work' for all Blue book jobs have same Ts and Cs. Holiday is accrued, and while you work on the jobs you are PAYE. Look up NAECI agreement, the website tells you what blue book jopbs are current as well.

nice one, ive been looking at getting my scats card but not enough work at the minute so ill probs just wait till things pick up.
you contracting at the minute or perm?
