looks better than the one a guy at my firm uses

to quote a couple of the lads, "he looks like a binman in that coat"

I've got a high vis bomber jacket for wet weather (30 quid screwfix), and a fleecey furry lined zip thru hoodie/jacket for cold dry days. Does the job spot on for my needs

North face Gotham jacket is cosy :)

i have a north face and theres no way im taking that on site!!
the timberland looks good, is it tough?
i just dont want one thats going to rip easy
cheers guys

cheap army goretex jacket (£15 from ebay) with a fleece underneath. Only real downside is the goretex doesn't have pockets.......

out of curiosity what gloves do you all use when out in the cold? has anyone found anything that can be worn while you work AND keep the hands warm? Because im struggling to find anything up to the challenge!

i wear cheap gloves with holes for fingers. not that bad till fingers start to freese.

anyone tried the snickers winter gloves

i have the army goretex for the spring/ summer but when im working i find too many layers a pain.

as for gloves i wear these (when the h and s man is about)
Blackrock® Specialist Handling Fingerless Machine Gloves One Size | NoLinkingToThis

and these if really cold
Thinsulate Lined Olive Fleece Hunting Mitts Fingerless Gloves Reinforced Palm | eBay

the gloves with some half fingers and some full just didnt feel nice imo.

cheers chrish_1977 i think ill be getting one, how did you find the sizing as it seems a bit odd to me.

WTH is wrong with you soft southern jessies! Last week I was fitting outside lights in shorts and a t shirt while it was snowing. All you have to do is work a bit harder and you're sorted.
:)

exactly! i mentioned this on another thread... my winter attire is normally a polo shirt, even when working outside. 5 minutes of graft usually gets your body temp' up. pffftt, southerners.

See Shagbite, you're almost a geordie but one question remains......
When going out on the lash in sub zero temperatures do you wear a jacket?
