My sentiments exactly, but this is how the piece of work he used as an example was wired, I think I need to have a word with the college about this, being shown non standard practice can't be good can it, thanks for your comments

That isn't a six terminal junction box as previously stated it is four terminal and not suited to the task.

Do you have a example of a six terminal JB please ?

This is what most of us would think of when you say 6 terminal junction box, though I think far fewer of us would use them these days.

For this to be compliant with regulations it would have to be fixed, strain relief provided for the cables, and be accessible.

You also have the option of something like a Wagobox using Wago connectors for a more flexible system with integral strain relief and MF suitability.

If your tutor is suggesting that joint box to connect what is required then something is clearly amiss with his methods.

I could if you wish take you to a site in Bath, South down to be exact, where 600 plus council houses were rewire in the early 1970s and to my knowledge have not been touched where a 7 way JB was used cable restraint all OK termination far better than all this Wago box carp, JBs fixed to a platform under the floor accessible if you cared to look, installed by Proper Tradesmen, who cared about pride in their work, OK it probably wont meet today's Mamby Pamby methods, but it has lasted, just saying, waiting for comments and cries of you old Firt get with the program etc etc.
