Wiring advice for multi room extractor fan

The client said that the fan unit came on when the lights for each room came on then off when the lights were off. But it was faulty when I went to swap it over

I'm now concerned about an electrician who can't wire a switch into a circuit.

Lol I am a Diyer but I have basic knowledge. Can I just put 3 switch lines into the different speeds and when all the lights are off the fan should stop?

You said "the client". Which makes out you are getting payed for this, which raises the question of... Are you insured to do this work?

The different speeds may mean the fan runs permanent on low speed and activation of the lighting in one of the rooms boosts it to a higher speed. You could then have a lower run over until it drops back to the low speed.

Ok so put the perminant live into the low speed and the other lives into the higher speeds for boost.

I am only assuming this is how it is connected. You need to find out exactly how the switching is connected, trial and error is not the best way forward.

John the forum rules forbid us to give out advice that may cause harm to someone who obviously does no know what they are doing, nothing wrong with no knowing Mate, your best option would be to call on the expertise of an Electrician, who can actually see what the installation consists of, asking for advice on an internet forum for something of this nature, is in my opinion asking for trouble.

Its a MEV fan, they run continuous have a read of this.
