Hi just trying to get an idea on going about wiring a lighting scheme controlled by a PIR and with an Emergancy fitting.

X 4 fittings to be installed, X 1 a non maintained emergancy, all controlled by a PIR and in T+E. From feeding into the PIR first i need to install a key switch below?
Not really dealt much with emergancy lights, and any help would be gratfull?

wire the lights , switched by the PIR , using 3 core/E instead of T/E. then use the spare core to supply the EM with a perm. L .

The non-maintained emergency fitting will require a permanent line and a switched line from the PIR.
Key switch to isolate the permanent supply to the emergency fitting for testing purposes.

oops, forgot the keyswitch in the perm. L.

So i should drop down to the key switch using 3 core and wire from the pir in normal T+E?

PIR needs 3C&E - permanent line, switched line, neutral and earth.
KS needs 2C&E - permanent line in and switched permanent line out to the non maintained emergency fitting.
You could choose to have a junction box and run from there.

Cheers, so wire to the PIR in T+E and then loop out with 3 core to other lights and 2 core to the key switch below?

Without seeing the layout its difficult but you could take a 2c (L&N) to JB1, a 3c to PIR from JB1, a 2c to KS from JB1, a 3c to NM emergency from JB1 then link to other lights with 2c.

drop feed to switch 3 core to pir then 3 core to light with perm live choc bloc through to em
