On schedule of test results form it asks for ZS at DB. I can only do ZE at DB

Worzol99 to be fair we all get stuck and daft questions that we are 99% sure on but thats why we come on here. we just need quick clarification. Would sooner someone ask what seems a "silly" question and get a correct answer than be afraid to and do something dangerous.

True, especially if an individual isn't aware that there may be more than one DB involved in an installation.

Thanks ipf I've come on here just for a double check before and get met with sarcasm and poor attitudes. I enjoy banter but sometimes certain members make you feel small for trying to ask for help in order to do a proper job.

Sorry for the upset but a bit of thought, search or book use, would be the easiest option.

Good Point well made as I get the same impression. I am right with you on this one. There are a lot of guys out there who believe they are gods gift to this forum and the electrical industry, who as you say only offer indifferent attitiudes, sarcasm and nothing of value.

Least we forgot we have at all times asked silly questions and still do today. We learn something new everyday and always continue to, and may possibly learn at times by asking a question no matter how stupid it may appear.

If we cannot on this forum offer any help sincerly to others then we are all the poorer for it.

It is really very straight forward
Ze the the External Impedance of an istalllation and should be measured at the following points.

Domestic: At the incoming/supply side of the main switch in DB
Larger installs: At the incoming / supply side of the main Switch on Sub Main panel.

I am of the belief that it should be termed Zdb be a lot clearer and easier all round.
Also on test sheet a tick box verifing if MEC was able to be removed safely from MET for said Ze [Zdb] test.

Just make a number up that seems plausible, no-one's going to check it, and if they do then the installation has degraded/upgraded since the reading was taken.
