Hi all... I took out an oven recently and thought I would hardwire the replacement back in myself but the wiring systems are different. Is it possible to transfer the wiring shown on the old oven to the new connections as pictured and if yes where do I connect the wires?can’t really afford an electrician so if it’s possible to connect myself that would be awesome. Thanks so much ... original oven wiring shown first (red connection plate ) and the other pic shows the connections in the replacement. Is it possible to retire with the original wires as shown? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Tarn

As I see it, Red to the 2 linked terminals (1 and 2). Black to terminal 3, Green (earth) to the 2 green/yellows on the casing stid. yo'ull need a ring crimp for the earth.

Thank you so much....makes perfect sense. Can I install the red on either linked terminal- does it matter? The earth has a U shaped crimp on it currently...would that suffice or definitely needs to be a ring crimp?

And just out of curiosity ( or perhaps attempting to make sure I don’t cause a disaster...if I did get it wrong it would trip the fuse when I turn it on so no biggie according to advice ive been given...is that correct?

either terminal for red. earth should be OK as long as you make sure it's a solid connection and won't pull loose. also ensure that the cable restraint clamp grips the outer sheath of the cable, but not so tight as to crush it.
