Ceiling Light Wiring Question

I bought a new ceiling light that has 3 bulb sockets. It has 2 silver wires which are twisted together and there's a single blue/silver wire.
My ceiling has the standard single black and white wires. Would the 2 silver wires attach the black wire?

unfortunately, this is a UK based forum and we use different colours over here.

Saying that, simple lights don't mind which way round they are connected.
A photo of the wiring would help though. 3 bulb sockets would equate to 3 pairs of wires

If they are ES lampholders then the polarity is important.

I guess we'll never know what they are.

ES polarity is important to us - for safety.... but they will still work if connected the other way.

think the more recently manufactured ES holders don't matter which way. .

But I'd still make every effort to make sure the centre contact was the live Tel, don't like the idea of feeding a lamp 'backwards' through the threaded bit.

so do I, but any twonk that pokes a finger in will get a belt, irrespective of the polarity.

Not with SES, unless they have very skinny fingers.
