Electrician winder and armature winder-are they the same?

Hello,

could someone please clarify whether someone whose job title is "Electrician-winder" is the same as an armature winder.If not what are the differences?Im also trying to establish whether someone who works as an armature winder would firstly have to train as an electrician?

Hey Ron.

You could try Google or Wikipedia for a definative answer. I dont think there are many winders left in the trade nowadays as it's now cheaper to get a new motor than have it re-wound.
