Can anybody recommend a good extractor fan for a shower room (Room Size - 2.55w x 1.77l x 2.58h) with timer. We are now on our second extractor fan and it is certainly not doing the job properly we are having problem with condensation which in turn is making the paint peel off the ceiling (not a happy bunny). Initially he installed a 4" in-line and have now moved on to a 6" in-line, 30 watt fan, 305 m3/h extraction but we are still having problems.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A 305m3/h extractor should be more than enough. Is there provision for fresh air to enter so that it can be extracted? If the place is well sealed the fan is trying to create a vacuum by removing air that's not being replaced. Also what length is the ducting? The longer the duct work the less effective the extraction rate.

the position of the fan counts too - it needs to draw fresh air in and gather the steam on its way. The best way to describe it would be to have the fan in the opposite corner to the door, with the shower cubicle in between - it does make a difference where it is positioned

Thank everybody for your feedback its very much appreciated - firstly my husband is going to reposition the extractor as this is the cheapest option (at the moment the extractor is in the corner above the shower) the ducting is only about 2.5m long so I don't think that is the problem. We'll try this option first because I think this will give the fan better ventilation of air going by the feedback received.

Are you sure the 6" inline fan is working properly and there is enough air entering the room under the door? Has the fan got an overrun timer? Is the outlet from the fan to the outside "clear"

A 6 inch inline fan should be more than enough IMHO.
