Faulty extractor fan

Went to electrical store today and got some earth sleeving and they cut me a piece of wire to use. Fitted as per pic - the switch live is also going into the live terminal but slightly hidden by the live wire in the picture. Turned on light and... Still nothing...

Hmmmm, may now need an electrician with some test equipment to try and trace the cable and see if you've lost supply,neatly done tho

I'm well aware I'm useless at DIY, I'm trying my best to learn some practical life skills hence joining this forum. I really appreciate your help and time!

This is admirable and I agree learning some practical skills a great thing to do.
However electrical work is not the right thing to learn by having a go at it. Electricity can be very dangerous and it's not worth the risk.

think youse gone as far as you can go. time , methinks, to get a sparks in to investigate.
