hi all doing a test for a property that has been fire damaged but when i tested all the white goods all failed 4 out 5 appliances failed on earth continutiy a little suspect yes i know but i did double check meter and leads all appeared ok the final appliance failed on earth leakage is it possible that my meter which is only a year old (metrel pat unit model number, cant remember) anyway the tester is pretty much kept in the van what is your views ta
 
Hi Bobby, Have you been testing with the correct autotest code set, sounds like the earth bond limit might be set to low for the appliance flexible cord length. On a Metrel autotest mode there is usually 3 choices; short =0.1 Ohms, midd = 0.3 Ohms and long = 0.5 Ohms. On the simple test modes it's 0.2 Ohms.
