hey just recently came out my time, here is my question...

Tommorow I must replace 5 large cirucular uplights. They have managed to get water ingress inside them thats why they will not work anymore, they are roughly 5 years old.

I will need to replace the flex cable to a rubber flex cable in and around the stuffing glad so that the water dosent suck into the fitting. The rep said rubber cable wont suck water into the fitting when warming up.

Basically are there little joints such as torpedo joints which can be bought which are 100% water proof?

Basically I would joint the existing cable to my new rubber cable then into the fitting from there but this joint would of course be/needed to be protected from water via the torpedo joint... but can they be bought and are there such things which can join flex in such a way.

cheers, Marcus.

yes something like that i would believe would be suitable but its just to joint 2 oridary flex's not swa's.

I guess you could get smaller versions suitable for these cable types? The joints will just sit underneath the circular uplighters.

Its probably best you pop into your local wholesalers and see what they have on the shelf.

In the past i have used a small weatherproof enclosure for the connections and filled with a resin.
