Hello,

Just visited a job where a house is being completely ripped apart and redone. What was the garage is now going to be a bedroom. The service head, meter and consumer unit is there so will now be in a bedroom. Is this allowed?
When on a job where a service head needed to be moved UkPn wouldn't even take the service cable under a ground floor bedroom so makes me think that they wouldn't want a head going in a bedroom.

Tried to call UkPn about 10 times today but never got through not surprisingly.

Please if anyone has any info or previous experience could you share with me please.

Many thanks,

Chris.

the reason they may not of wanted to run the cable under a room could be the possibility of their cable getting damaged. DNOs want to drop their responsibility as soon as possible hence why they want external meter boxes less to get damaged.
