Do you need your own testing equipment calibrated in your own name to be able to perform eicr's or can I use any calibrated tester?

I have a similar philosophy,if I find I need to borrow something more than once then its time to buy one.

well yes I suppose it goes along with all the other things that come with age, like arthritis and bladder problems, unfortunately its something a lot of young people are lacking, honesty and scruples that is,not arthritis and bladder problems.hum, does being honest mean you are of a certain age?

couldn't agree more, maximum profit for minimum effort seems to be the modern maxim. It just strikes me that these days the motivation is to cut corners, and charge excess amounts for what they do. No pride and then wonder why, if they are self employed why they can't earn very much!
exactly,I'll never be a millionaire but I can sleep nights with a clear conscience. All starts and ends, with being honest to/with yourself!!
I can't imagine a qualified electrician not having his own basic test equipment, whether he works for a company that supplies all test equipment or not!! Personally i'd feel bare and exposed without my own test equipment. Apart from the installation side of things, you just cannot perform as an electrician without it!!
I now i have more than i would ever have need of, probably more than most medium sized companies, in some of the test equipment i now have!! lol!!
