Can any electrical oven be hard wired?

Its often harder to plug a floor standing cooker/oven into an above counter bs1363 socket. (trailing cables). To chop off the manufactures plug may affect your warrenty and that includes qualified registered electricians

    Ring main.

Ah so I did. There was also another post at #320. Must have been a busy week. Just a note. The only reason why two ring final circuits end up paralleled up into one mcb/fuse terminal is likely to be a short term temporary measure because there are no spare fuse ways. The Dist. Board is about to...

    One Way Switch Issue. Help!

Of course it doesn't matter, but you will have to orientate the switch plate according to the terminations assigned to C and L1 and as long as the switch plate has nothing engraved on its face.

    One Way Switch Issue. Help!

You will if there are any markings such as 'this way up', 'leave switch on', 'outside light', for direction or even some company advertizing

    One Way Switch Issue. Help!

I think the Lighting feed to the common, spare room and bedroom to L1. You can still use the dimmer, although, I might be tempted to use a 2 ganged switch/dimmer and control the two rooms separately.

I Need Work Inspection & Testing

I can't help you with any woirk. However, It's actually quite common for installation electricians to have litte or no testing and inspection experience. I once had 4 electricians with 80 years experience between them were placed on one of my I&T courses who had never used test instruments in...

Not nice. Actually very not nice

I can see where he's going but unfortunately he has not got there yet and certainly not to leave 'work in progress' unsupervised... as stated, that could well leave him/her prosecutable.

    Indoor PIR in the kitchen

The PIR is basically a movement/heat operated switch which would need to be, in simple terms, a replacement to the manually operated one. Not a difficult install and no likely problems with loading or lack of it. However, Things to consider would be position of PIR sw; how to get the necessary...

    Ring main.

I'm getting postings via my email regarding 'connecting two rings into one protective device' which appear to be linked to another thread posted back in the Jurassic period. My final answer is that there is nothing wrong as they are still separate circuits but is it safe? and that depends on...
