I wonder if you would be so kind to help me.
I have 5 cables that will require to be ran in about 3m of trunking across a garage wall. The cables are 4 x 2.5mm (one ring 32amp cb, fridge radial 16amp cb and oven radial 20amp cb) and the other cable is 4mm utility radial 32amp cb.
Is it OK to...
Hi Guys
Is there a reason why installation ref method B (in conduit or trunking on a wall) not listed as an allowed installation method on the maximum cable length charts (table 7.1)?

Currently planning a new rewire for my kitchen and want to get things right first time when it comes to appliances consumptions and circuits.
Unfortunately I don't have the wattage of appliances as some not bought all yet but will go for worst case to be safe.
the oven will be on its own...
Hi Guys
I've fitted 12m of LED strip light 9.6watt/meter which equates to 115w. I've used a 150w driver. The lights where checked before and after fitted OK but had not been on for a long period of time. They seem to be turning off by itself now having been left on for a longer time. If I turn...
Hi Guys
Never used LED strip lighting before. Customer wants the cornice strip lighting around bedroom so I can access loft space if required. Would i be correct in thinking I take the switched live from bedroom light switch to the driver (all done in loft) then drop down to connect to LED...
Thanks for the reply Guys.
Now found they are going for a all electric hob/oven range cooker at 13.2kW. With diversity (no socket) =23.5amp so I know I'm good with 4mm radial on existing 32amp breaker but seeing as new install I think I'll fit a 6mm cable for future proof etc.
Interested to...
Hi all
Some advice on this would be great.
Due to wire a kitchen from scratch and in a pickle over the designing of the oven and hob circuits due to having to carry out first fix before appliances are agreed on due to time restraints.
My original thought was to run a 6mm cable on a 32amp...
Well the origional plug was on an EU style plug but fitted into a UK type plug. All which came as part of the packaging. It is a Werner professional steamer.
I've used an mk socket and a brand new durable uk socket all with new terminals and new fuse with clean connections.
To be honest I'm...
Hi guys
Recently I've had a wall paper steamer plugged into my upstairs ring main and noticed after several minutes a fishy smell which was the result of a burnt out live pin in the socket. To add add main breaker did not trip at this point or even the plugs 13amp fuse (could you advise as to...
Just the likes of a fridge and TV appliances.
What would you recommend I best do? There are a couple of spare ways in the main house consumer unit but like I say your talking the back of the garden from CU is 150ft away.
What is the usual way to attack this situation?
Just general spike lights and uplighters throughout the borders for the landscape lighting, around 30 in total. Doubt it will be more than 500w in total.
And the outhouse will only be a handful of double sockets with a lighting circuit. A garage consumer unit will likely be ample I'd have...
Hi guys
Garden is around 100ft long and I am looking to build a small out house at the back of it. I would also like landcape lighting throughout the garden.
Would you guys run seperate cables from the main house i.e
1)one for outhouse and other for landscape lighting
or
2) would you run...
