Yep, Scotland.
Nope - we got an apprentice...it's early days.
Mown out with work at the moment - every man and his dog seems to want their lighting changed to led.
Moved to sunny Sunderland but still work from Bradford - now that's a commute!
We found a dog training collar for nuisance barking that consisted of a microphone and 2 probes built into a collar. Decided it looked a bit dodgy for the mutts but stepson decided we were too soft, strapped it rouond his neck and started barking. Funniest thing I've seen when the collar zapped...
Hi, sorry for being as clear as mud :-( lol but that's early mornings and pressure for you!
There's 2 of the units and they're 300Kva made by chloride IIRC. Big beasts leastwise.
I've spoken to the landlords rep this morning and he's arranging for the guys who normally service the things to...
Breaks my heart too, so I've hung on to every set since the yellow 15th. Bright side is they sometimes have details that have been omitted from the latest versions for oldie worldie pieces of kit that you come across when testing (old BS specs etc)
Hi all,
I'm testing an unoccupied office block and I'm having some major grief with my tester trying to get Zs readings.
The place was a call centrre for a computer related firm and as well as the normal supply it has a gert UPS in the plant room (p.resumably to keep the servers etc up and...

And that's the problem. You couldn't sleep at night if you did anything wrong (me either come to that) but these muppets don't KNOW they've done anything wrong! They think they're doing Rolls Royce jobs...
Well gentlemen, the problem has gone away for now but without me finding the solution...
In response to the voltage questions, the fittings that are faulting are on a circuit of 10 lights and only 2 or 3 are faulting - voltage is ok.
The batteries in some of the fittings are brand new - the...
Yep, voltage is well within limits. I've seen this problem before over the years and never got to the bottom of it. Not too bad when there's only one or two but this is in the stairwell of a 30 storey building (68 fittings in all) and probably 25% of them are acting up. Makes you look a twonk...
Hi all, I'm working on some maintained
em lights at the moment and theyrr doing my head on grr! They work fine as ems on power failure. but won't strike when power is restored. then, randomly one or two will come back on over 24hourd or so . they're tridonic combi ballasts on single 49w...
So, to satisfy an old man's confusion, if the installation has a BS1361 fuse and it's now been turned into a BS88 type 3 by the magic of the BGB, do you use the info for BS88 fuses in the tables?
