    Query with a couple regs

There are no issues re the sockets - there was one circuit with no RCBO but that was changed. My questions were about the cables buried in the wall and the data within the containment. I have the print out for the cable ratings which does say 300 Are you saying that by wanting to follow the...

    Query with a couple regs

Thanks for the replies so far Andy - it isn't screened, or even LSF - just the cheap stuff Mister E - i'll keep a copy of that PDF thanks - seems some handy info on there. Vortigern - they have put RCD's for sockets - its the buried cables that are the issue for the other circuits Cheers

    Query with a couple regs

Yeah, they have RCD for sockets - although they did 'miss' one circuit and had an MCB fitted instead of RCBO - apparently this was an oversight - despite the fact the certs had readings for the RCD times from that same MCB

True - especially when single compartment like the 100 x 50 is half the price ( but looks naff!)

    Query with a couple regs

Hi - sorry, I haven't been on the forum for ages! Its that long I cant see how to attach photos now! I have a couple of queries following some work carried out by another contractor and would appreciate a second opinion ( or as many as possible ) One of my customers has just purchased some...

    Single labourer - CIS required??

Ray, I have been paying the CIS for subbies for a few year now, and although you are right it is a right pain in the backside, once you get into it it's easy to do. I ended up with a few £100 fines when I started it for late submissions to the HMRC website, ie a day late! I also get the CIS...

    Tails query!

Kingeri , do you have a reg number for this, it's something I've seen before and it's cropped up on a job today where I have been asked to look at an installation on a new build - which is fairly crap! Cheers

    Scaffolding

How can you say when do sparks get involved with this ?? Unless you only do domestic, it is likely that you will use it regularly! I think it's a cracking idea to teach them that! It's basic safety!

    Pat testing

Nah, you cant charge him for the sockets you simply use to plug the tester in. I am currently doing a fairly large PAT job in my down time and agreed with the estates manager that if i find damaged sockets i will change them at a cost. I think i charge about £8 per socket replaced as i usually...

NICEIC Certification Scheme Ametch - NICEIC EICR

the only change i can see is the background so you can print on blank forms - like you say, still useless! Why it wasnt incorporated in the full package is beyond me, it means you have to fill in all the details of installations and clients all over again and end up with two seperate databases...

NICEIC Certification Scheme Ametch - NICEIC EICR

i am the same, i had refused to pay for the Premier Care about 6 months ago when it was up for renewal. the main reasons at the time was all the spelling mistakes in the EICR and the fact that they said i had to pay for the upgrade to rectify the problem - i explained that i had bought something...

    Which PAT Tester?

Whats wrong with having good gear? i hope your sarcastic remark isnt intended for me after saying i bought the kit with downloads! i also have an old seaward europa plus which gets used occassionally. Do you use crap drills and tools and drive around in a £100 van? Who said anything about...
