Totally stumped. Night Storage Heater tripping out MCB, but ok on daytime circuit.

It cant be the cables as they work fine when wired into the daytime supply. I will suggest that the guys to replace the E7 MCB unit's. my hunch is that because its an old E7 unit and the main unit is newer. The MCB's may have failed and are too sensitive and need upgrading, hence the heater not...

Murdoch. The same company that supplied the heater are trying their hardest to solve, not asking others to solve. I am seeking suggestions. I think the only thing to do is to fit a new E7 fuse board with RCD. But that still doesn't make sense if all the other heaters work in what ever MCB they...

Elsparko, really helpful mate. Testing on the E7 circuit revealed no faults. How does it works on the main unit when connected to that? Surely its the same circuit just wired into E7 MCB's. As posted the E7 MCB's work fine with the others night storage heaters in which ever MCB its placed into?

Totally stumped. Night Storage Heater tripping out MCB, but ok on daytime circuit.

Its a new storage heater as the other one was old and it was thought that the problem was with the old heater. They haven't charged for the new heater as they want to fix the problem before they do. They are willing to return the old heater to avoid unnecessary expense as long as we can sort the...

Pretty sure its a 15amp MCB. The point is the particular heater trips any of the 15 MCB's on the E7 board they put it into (the other night storage heaters don't), but the heater does not trip any of the 15 amp MCB's on the main fuseboard when they wire it to that.

Replace what? That's what I am asking? To be fair, she has only been charged once by the same firm, just 5 different guys been back from the same company, in their pursuit of the fix. They have been really thoughtful to the mother in law, just stumped. I don't know too much about electrics, but...

Totally stumped. Night Storage Heater tripping out MCB, but ok on daytime circuit.

E7 MCB appears to be tripping a few hours into night storage heater charge. it is not overheating as it does not trip RCD on main board when wired to that.

Totally stumped. Night Storage Heater tripping out MCB, but ok on daytime circuit.

Main board has RCD, E7 doesn't' it just trips the Circuit Breaker. They have wired back into the E7 board and its tripping, but not the normal one.

Totally stumped. Night Storage Heater tripping out MCB, but ok on daytime circuit.

They have tested the circuit and there is no faults showing. The load rating on the MCB on the E7 fuse board is the same as the daytime fuse board its now been wired into (not sure what it is sorry). The circuit works on the daytime fuse board they have now wired it into, but trips on what ever...

Please help. I have a basic understanding of electirics, but 5 Electricians are stumped and I don't know where to go next. My mother in law heats her house by 4 Night Storage Heaters, all of which are wired to a Economy 7 supply/fuse board, with no RCD just MCB. The largest of the Night...
