Wiring a new 2 gang socket

The pattress you have looks like a deep 45mm, usually used for cooker/shower switches. You could use a shallower 25mm for a socket which would look neater on the wall. Although id agree with the above, not being a straightforward swap id get a pro to come and sort it for you.

2391 returning, well on website it is anyway?

Was randomly on the C+G site today, and happened across the old 2391 course showing as "Coming soon April 2017". Im confused, they bringing back an old certificate again, anyone have any info. Purely just curious myself, i got my 2391 over ten years ago, not doing it again. Electrical...

    part P on the BBC

Totally BBC scaremongering, sure the guy is a cowboy no doubting that, BUT this BBC nonsense is laughable, stupid panic on opening a spur which is safe if done carefully etc. And then the constant stressing of "illegal" etc.. its part p, not murder! And he can still do it if not registered on...

"Niceeic Registered" on an advertised job? Meaning ?

I think (not 100%) that the ad is via a recruitment firm ( /sigh ) and hoping the recruitment person just confused etc.

"Niceeic Registered" on an advertised job? Meaning ?

    EICR completion rate

Well judicious use of limitations, guidance notes and regs means the lights don't come out.. In fact on many sites they don't even go off. (i.e. a bank during working hours). Like i said judicious use of limitations. Sure theres a reason all the big FM firms and high street names use...

Electrician and QS on trial for death of woman

The media being the media over blowing it all as ever though.. Comments like "£1000 for a death, joke" and "involved in her death" i read on few media sites reporting it.. Its not a murder case dear british media! (i dont mean overblowing a tragic death btw, just the case)

    EICR completion rate

Most testing firms expect 37-45 circuits a day,, Its the norm in the business, Shocking but its how they roll.

Electrician and QS on trial for death of woman

To say someone was tragically killed and i quote "because" of the guy who did the inspection is madness is it not? He didn't cause anyone death, might have failed to spot a fault maybe, but even that is impossible to know or prove. I once had a nightmare fault finding a tripping RCD, that after...

Prosecuted for doing an EICR , worrying precedent.......

Now i know the Daily Mail is known for sensationalising a story, but this is a very worrying precent for our industry and inspections.. Emma Shaw electrocuted 'because electrician was UNQUALIFIED' | Mail Online To say someone was tragically killed and i quote "because" of the guy who did the...
