Hi I'm new to the forum so I hope I have got this in the right section of the forum.
I'm installing a new shower in to the house, and on chasing the old wiring I have found that it is running down the cavity wall between my house and my neighbours. Is this illegal or is it ok to route wires this way?
Any advice will be grateful cheers.

It is no longer allowed under the building regs for new cables. But not specifically outlawed in BS7671.

Rationale being that anyone installing cavity wall insulation may either damage the cable or change the current carrying characteristics of the cable.
