Flex used to connect upto 10 light fittings together over about 20 mts

came across this on a EICR the flex as been hard wired between each fitting not sure if this is ok

as long as the flex can carry the load and is protected accordingly, it's OK.

Many fixed appliances are indeed hard-wired with flex. As Tel says, as long as it's suitable for the load and environment, I really can't see an issue.

why is flex not used more often , it is easier to work with you dont need to sleeve the cpc , doesnt kink as much as t&e , could flex be used for the likes of a final ring circuit , is there anything in the regs that says you shouldnt use it for the likes of that?

Costs more.....and try getting a 6mm flex

There's nothing in the regs ....... but your wallet wouldn't be too happy.

Worked on a job that all lighting and power was wired in yy cable on basket, big contract by national contractor as well.

Well you're hardly likely to put a lump of T&E, pyro or swa in that situation are you? Think of what shape the outlet of a fused spur is

I've seen fused spur with t & e and its not pretty. It was just an example, not a good one I admit
