This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working towards getting qualified as an electrician and am hoping to get my foot in the door with an apprenticeship or mate position soon. (side note: I'm 28, not a school leaver).

I don't have previous professional experience yet, but I took a job as a self-employed as a labourer on a large new build development to gain some good on-site experience. More importantly, I'm very focused on getting the formal qualifications and training needed.

In November I'll complete the City & Guilds intensive Domestic Electrical Installation course, which covers 1 week of Domestic Installation Workshops, 1 week of Inspection and testing practicals, a week of introduction to Electrical Installation & Part P, and the City & Guilds 2382-22 18th Edition Wiring Regulations prep and exam.

I'm also studying evenings for the Level 2 City & Guilds 2365 diploma which I should wrap up in December.

I'm based just outside Rye (near Hastings & Ashford) but am willing to relocate for the right opportunity. I have my own transport and am open to travel anywhere across the South East and London. My goal is to become fully qualified, but need to start as an apprentice or mate to get that initial experience under my belt.

If anyone knows of opportunities in the South East or London, I'd really appreciate any leads! I'm eager to work and learn and am keen to get hands on in any setting, whether it's domestic, commercial, industrial, solar, EV charging, etc., and excited to start working in the electrical field. Looking forward to being an active part of this community and helping others in a similar position someday.

Let me know if you have any tips or advice!
