Hi Guys newbie here looking for advice.

My electric shower, Mira advanced thermostatic atl, has stopped working. When I flick the wall switch the lights on the shower do not come on and none of the buttons do anything.

I've opened the front cover and used a mains tester screwdriver to test the live\brown wire and there is power.

I don't see any obvious burn marks on the main board.

I tested various other components on the board and nothing else seems to have power.

Is there something else I can check or do I need to call one of the Mira Engineers (£160)?

thanks

Sorry Wilko, I can’t seem to upload any pictures. It’s giving me an error.

Telectrix - It’s a wall mounted cooker switch, possibly (?) not ideal for a bathroom but it’s at the back of a deep recessed cupboard.

I’ll change it round this evening after work, making sure I have fresh copper in each of the terminals

It would be preferable to get a sparky in to do it. But if you do decide to do it yourself then be very sure to make good connections. When you have connected the wires, push the switch back into place temporarily to ensure it will go, then check the connections again for tightness before you fasten it back to the back box.

No joy.

I changed over the isolator switch for a new one. Made sure everything was seated properly and tightened. Checked if there was power coming into and going out of the switch. Checked there was power in the shower itself. All looks ok, to the untrained eye.

The shower is still not doing anything.

Time to call in the Cav (aka Mira Engineer). :(
