Multi meter

Want to get son a multimeter as he is going to be a sparky. I have looked around and from what I have read I think a fluke is the way to go. But what one what is the 113/s like. He says he will not need one with all the bells and whistles. He will only be working on domestic no 3 phase or the like. Thanks all

Working in a domestic environment I very rarely get my multimeter out. They are not allowed for safe isolation procedures so you use an 'approve voltage indicator' for that which will normally have a continuity test function which normally covers all your basic testing needs. The company he serves his apprenticeship should be providing all of the test equipment used for formal testing.

For some specialist work I use a multimeter which is always in my bag. It's an AVO410 from megger which does everything I need.

If you don't need a all singing all dancing meter have a look at Screwfix they do decent one which has a current clamp as well about £20 that should do him, I have one and it's pretty good for something as cheap as it was.
