ESC, whish owns Ascertiva, which owns NICEIC announced back in December that is was joining forces with the ECA which owns Elecsa
It has done this through the creation of the 'Electrical Safety Register' which they are lobbying the government / are trying to establish it as the equivalent of the Gas Safe Register.
Talking to various people, and reading bewteen the lines it would appear that this is effectively a takeover of Elecsa by NICEIC, and is also a a reaction towards the upcoming relaxation of the Part P rules.
I guess it also means upcoming redundancy for a lot of Elecsa area inspectors / engineers
