... back up your files.

I thought I'd just post a reminder as I've just done mine. Given how vital the electronic documents, recorded data, emails, forms etc etc are to a business they should be backed up frequently. I use a portable hard drive to do mine, but the media is of secondary importance to the task.

I learnt that lesson a few years back, now use a time capsule with the mac.

i backup at the end of every month just after invoicing. I use synctoy and a portable drive. Synctoy meant the files are not in a wierd compressed format that needs specialised software to open and also only backs up the files that have changed so pretty quick (although not an incremental backup since the directories I choose to backup are 'syncronised').

cracking idea, just done mine as i had forgot for the last couple of months, and the computer was playing up the other day - i use Backer 6 - sounds the same idea as Syntoy, and its free!

Worth checking out Dropbox - 2GB of free online storage which synch's down to any machine you choose to install their software on. We use that so we have no need for a manual backup
