Part of the job today, take this down and replace with new fitting.

It's DIYers doing it the hard way.
I just couldn't get how they screwed the lid on without thread.

These were on the same job.
It was an Irish fella who just put his own fittings up. Started having problems, so got us in. In the loft he'd chicken wired around a central wooden floor.......ended up cutting it and crawling through to get at everything.

That's quite creative really. Means you only see the string and not the switch. I can see you're not convinced!
