Got a job on at the moment to disconnect part of a building, and need some EOL resistors

Ones im after are a 6K8 and a 470R, im hoping maplins can help but does anyone know what the rating these would be as maplins only state the Ohms value

Thanks in advance

would it not be easier to take the eols's out of the last device your dissing..and put them where required

they only need to be 1/2 watt. are you sure about the 470 ohm. is that to fit in a call point? reason i ask is that that value across the zone pair would result in the panel going into FIRE. generally the 470R is built into the call point and is brought into play when the glass breaking trips the micro switch.

I took the info which was printed onto the PCB, it states

" End of line resistors for zone circuits & sounder circuits are 6K8. Call point series resistors are 470R"

The building wiring has been extended/ messed about with and im unsure where the end of line is

as tel said 470 is the firing res,you need to find the eol as if you fit another eol somewhere your going to get a fault if the original eol is still in place

Try imagine this scenario

2 buildings nextdoor, 1st building has panel located at the front

Now the buildings were leased by one company so the fire alarm panel from building 2 was removed and the sounder/call circuits were extended into building one

Company is now leaving the propertys and needs building 2 disconnected from building 1

Now i have found where the 2 cables have gone through the wall and cut the cables, so now just a case of fitting EOL onto them cables in a adaptable box

Building 2 will be left without a alarm but still have all the call points/sounders in situ, just need to install panel and connect cables back up

OK, you only need the 6.8K, not the 470R. that's for the zones. what about sounder circuits. they may well have different eol devices, sometimes its a cap. or a res/cap combimation. as needasparks says, there may be some inside the panel.

edit: what make and model is the panel?

You only need the 6k8 resistors as it says zones and Sounder circuits. Any electronics shop will sell them. As said before the 470ohm is the resistor across the call points and heads that triggers the panel into fire. You don't need to buy them with modern call points and detectors.
